Components of the Data Access Layer

In the Data Access Layer, Data Access Objects interact with the actual source of data, whether it is a standard Data-Source object that maps to one or more database tables, or some other source. Other sources could be unmanaged data, for example, XML files. (Data-Source objects support the filling of a ProDataSet temp-table. For more information, see OpenEdge Development: ProDataSets .)
